About
— Ed Singleton, British photographer based in New York
My photographic career started with making coffee, sweeping floors and painting large studio cyc’s at Metro Studios London while studying for a degree in photography hours away in the countryside!
In 2006 I graduated from The Surrey Institute of Art & Design with a bachelor degree in photography and a little list of contacts I had gained from working at the Metro Studios. For the next 8 years I lived in London, assisted over 100 different photographers and was lucky enough to fly all over the world gaining valuable experience in a multitude of varying situations. Some notable photographers I admire and I am thankful for the experience of assisting include Miles Aldridge, Nick Knight, David Sims and Emma Summerton.
In 2014 I followed Emma Summerton as her 1st assistant from London to New York for some of the most enjoyable, challenging and exciting experiences of my assisting career.
After 8 years of assisting Emma and over 10 years assisting I followed my own path as a photographer in 2016.
My photographs can be seen in publications including Vogue, W, Elle, Glamour, Paper Magazine, and Grazia.
I have produced imagery for Maybelline, Revlon, L’Oréal, Make up Forever, and Target Beauty. Along with crafting campaigns for Akris, Bossi Sportswear, H & M, MCM, Marc Jacobs, Kenzo, Swarovski, and Tanya Taylor.
I pride myself on building fun, creative and relaxing collaborations with my clients in an honest and respectful environment.
I currently live in Brooklyn, New York.
